How to get to Restronguet Sailing Club, Mylor Churchtown, Falmouth TR11 5UF - Tel: 01326 374536 (only answered when the club is open)

The A30 (main road from the end of the M5 at Exeter) is dual carriageway almost to Truro, and half-an-hour to Restronguet SC from there. At this point it’s important not to be fooled by the name of the club, which is situated at Mylor Churchtown. The map below shows the best route to Mylor Churchtown, by following the brown tourism signs to the harbour.

Dropping-off / picking-up your boat

Please note that the Dinghy Park opens on Monday 24th July at 9:00am. If you are unable to park your boat & trailer at your accommodation until then, you can leave it in the overflow vehicle/trailer park field marked 2 on the map below (free) or purchase trailer parking in Mylor Harbour Marina car park Zones 7-10, see https://www.mylor.com/contact-us/car-parking/

Also note that the only public access to Restronguet SC is via the footpath, or across the beach at mid to low tide. The club is on land and the beach owned by the Trefusis Estate and vehicles are not permitted to park on the beach. The vehicle access to the club (via the beach) is for dropping-off and picking-up boats only.

  • On Monday 24th July, HW (5.1m) is at 06:40 BST, so we estimate you should be able to drive across the beach (at your own risk) from about 8:00AM
  • On Tuesday 25th July, HW (5.2m is at 07:29 BST, so we estimate you should be able to drive across the beach (at your own risk) from about 9:00AM
  • On Saturday 29th July, HW (4.6m is at 10:08 BST, so we estimate you should be able to drive across the beach (at your own risk) up until 9:00AM and again from 11:00AM
  • On Saturday 5th August, HW (4.4m is at 04:36 BST, so we estimate you should be able to drive across the beach (at your own risk) at any time during the morning (all boats need to be removed by 12:00)

If you must access the dinghy park by vehicle when the tide is too high to use the beach, you will need to puchase some parking from Windsport (£5/day) and ask permission to move your boat across their field to the gate at the top of the RSC dinghy park.

To reach RSC via the beach continue past Mylor Yacht Harbour, the café and Castaways restaurant, to the narrow road running alongside the beach. Continue along this road. At the point where it starts to ramp upwards, turn left onto the beach (yellow track on diagram).

On arrival, you can unload your boat on the beach, pick up your car parking & trailer parking pass and instructions from a Registration team member (no need to fully register).
Map showing location of Porloe Farm

Overflow vehicle/trailer park
The overflow vehicle/trailer park is in a field at the entrance to Porloe Farm, a little distance above Mylor Church (entrance is marked 2 on the map above). Porloe Farm drive entrance is clearly marked with a sign (and has a cattle grid).

Approaching from Mylor Bridge or Penryn direction, there is a house with a long, tile capped stone wall on the left, a left bend road sign and 'SLOW' painted on the road, the entrance is a little further down the hill, on the left, just where the 'no parking' yellow lines start.

Approaching from Mylor Harbour, drive up the hill, away from the Marina, to where the yellow 'no parking' lines end and Porloe Farm drive entrance is on the right.

Please park neatly alongside the road hedge in the larger (i.e. north) field which is on the right hand side off the drive (the opposite side of the driveway to where the '2' is on the map).
